REMINDER!! Our first rehearsal is Thursday from 4-5 pm in the library! This will only be one hour.

This rehearsal is for the entire cast -- **Whos and Soldiers included (**this is a change -- so if you have alternate plans, no worries). If your child is in Aftercare, we will pick them up and bring them back.

We will introduce ourselves, talk about the show, and hopefully pass out scripts. A full rehearsal schedule should be available this weekend (we are waiting on scripts).

We have only one cast. We will have (3) three shows and due to the school and church calendars, the performances will be one (1) FRIDAY evening April 11th  and two (2) on SATURDAY April 12th. YES, two shows on Saturday. We want to give you this information as early as possible so you can make an informed decision about participating.

SHOW PERFORMANCES: APRIL 11, 12, 13

**This show will be a single cast**

Everyone is encouraged to audition—even if you’ve never been in a show! The musical is a great way to make new friends and learn music and acting skills as well. Everyone who auditions will have a part. Students in grades 5-8 can audition for a lead (named part). Students in K-4 will primarily be cast in an Ensemble/Chorus. Seussical will not be double-cast, so all performers will be in all three shows.

Students auditioning for a lead should prepare a selection from a Broadway musical or a Disney song.

Pop songs are discouraged. K-4 students (and those who prefer a smaller role) may sing any piece of music one minute in length (like Happy Birthday or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). You MUST bring sheet music if you need accompaniment (we will have an accompanist available).

The Holy Cross spring musical is a fun and exciting experience, but it will also be hard work that requires time, dedication and persistence. Every person in the cast, even our youngest participant, is important and must be present at their required rehearsals. Rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm, with occasional Saturdays, until closer to performances. Please review any extracurricular commitments prior to auditions. Cast members may only rehearse once per week. Not every cast member will attend every rehearsal. We are able to work with most activities.

I’m very honored and excited to be a part of this production and to work with your children. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. If you are new to the school, new to the musical, or your child is ”on the fence,” I will be available to talk after the PTC meeting on January 15^th at 7pm.
